IMA Glide Fluke 178S

The IMA Glide Fluke 178 is a hard glide swimbait available in two models, floating and sinking, each with its use optimised to cover twelve months of fishing.

This swimbait is a good little bugger at 178mm, no big deal compared to the 240mm or even 300mm models that are popular elsewhere, but it's still a good, big, meaty fish. The floating model comes in at 70 grams while the sinking model comes in at 80 grams and it may be important to find out which is better to use during the year.

The IMA Glide Fluke 178 Floating can be worked as a wake bait, peeling the surface to trigger heart-arresting topwater strikes. It's the best choice for spring and autumn, when temperatures are, shall we say, "perfect" and predators are moving in relatively shallow areas, but it's not that in summer you can't use it, maybe you should change the time and choose sunrises or sunsets or warm winter days, which there are. Don't forget to choose the floating when there are a lot of obstacles in the way that you can't control or if you are fishing on beaches that have limited cover.

Perhaps the IMA Glide Fluke 178 sinking is the most versatile, it has a wider range of action and allows you to comb all layers of water, at the same time it carries more risk of getting stuck decorating a submerged branch, but luckily, this hard swimbait is one of the least expensive on the market and fortunately. when you leave it on the bottom you don't get any tears.

The IMA Glide Fluke 178 can be worked in the classic way, with a slow, linear retrieve, you can throttle up a little to make it wiggle more happily, or like a fluke, with erratic jerks, with tip pull to attract a lot of attention and change water layers faster, taking advantage, with the sinking model, of the nodding towards the bottom and the sudden rises every time you twitch it.

This IMA Glide Fluke 178 seems to be one of the best hard articulated swimbaits we can buy to start learning this world, it's not expensive and it's very intuitive to use. It's an excellent glide for targeting largemouth bass, pike and wels catfish and in saltwater it's already scoring points with seabass, bluefish and other types of predators. Saltwater anglers, less purist than freshwater anglers, handle it with spinning rods of good power and get by just fine.
