Bluefish

Certainly one of the most entertaining predators on our coasts, the bluefish, thanks to its distribution, is very popular among lure fishermen.

Hooking a meaty bluefish can prove to be a very interesting fight as it not only runs and moves fast, but also jumps and quite often, precisely during the jumps, manages to free itself from the hooks and escape. To avoid the problem or minimise it, you have to hook it very hard and follow the jumps, as you do with tarpon, by bringing the rod towards the fish to loosen the line and prevent the fish to use it as a leverage thanks to the tension.

Depending on the area in which you fish in the shop you can find all kinds of lures for bluefish lure fishing, the most popular being poppers, pencil poppers, walking the dog and long jerks. There is also a good selection of robust rods, lines and reels that allow you to tackle these predators safely.
