You're at the mouth of a river, a beach or a shallow area where a significant current is moving and with the Palms Jabami Lipless you can take advantage of it in a cross-cutting fashion. You cast and slow the fall for a moment, just as the lure is about to hit the water, close the pick up and tighten the line. Depending on the strength of the current you move the crank, in an estuary with an ebbing tide you may not even need to touch it but to adjust the line, on a beach you are in charge of the game.
The Palms Jabami Lipless snakes on the surface, if you lift the tip it will come alive and create a wake, or rather it lifts it up and breaks the water attracting the attention of sea bass or bluefish patrolling the area. If you lower the tip and put a little more speed into it, it sinks just below the surface and leaves a less marked trail, but still a trigger. The strikes can be brutal, the water explodes and suddenly you've got a bent rod and a punk on the other end of the line. If surface fishing is fun, with a jointed lure it's four times more so.
The Palms Jabami Lipless may not reach places for which there are other types of lures, although the Japanese assure us that they have studied the profile of each segment to minimise the negative effects suffered by this type of lure in flight. They also reassure us about the robustness of the whole, the joints are bomb-proof and there is no need to fear that a big fish will disintegrate the lure.
If you're excited about spin fishing for seabass, barracuda, bluefish, dentex or any other predator, the Palms Jabami Lipless will probably drive you crazy. It's also a very peculiar lure, which the fish have seen very little of, a very important advantage.
