The Lipper by IMA bears the signature of Hitoshi Suzuki and is the first "wakebait" of the Japanese firm, a milestone, in every way, let's discover it.

Perhaps the first thing to do would be to define what a wakebait is. A concept known in the world of bass fishing and that in Japan is used a lot for the Suzuki, their local seabass. Roughly speaking it is a floating lure that can work on the very top water layer, almost like a semi-sinking WTD, and that create a V wave that drives predatorscrazy. This is how the Lipper by IMA works while we retrieve it slowly.

However, in the specific case of the Lipper by IMA, if we work it with more vehemence, we can almost achieve a mix of a WTD and popper action which creates a lot of disturbance on the surface. In the videos is perfectly clear and we can even see how Hitoshi Suzuki, its designer, brings it to life, and the environment in which they are fishing, which is also very interesting to understand when and where we can use the Lipper by IMA.

See the Lipper by IMA in action or see a mullet moving at water level is exactly the same, if you pay attention, in the video you can see it perfectly, furthermore note how the lure reacts when Suzuki retrieves it slowly and with the tip of the rod pretty still and low, and how it revives as soon as it starts to step on the accelerator and raises the tip.

We have no doubt that it is a good caster, generally all the lures of this firm fly very well and the design of the Lipper by IMAbody, with no aerodynamic impediments, suggests that it can be fired without difficulty.

The Lipper 90 by IMA seems a very interesting and highly recommendable lure, perhaps not tailored for everyone, perhaps more complicated for beginners, but certainly a piece that every now and then finds a reason to be in our box, especially if we are fishing in environments similar to those that are shown in the videos.
